Summer English Camp / Group Visits

St. Croix employs full-time English teachers as well as academic specialists to oversee the day-to-day classroom program.

Students are given an English placement test at the beginning camp and placed in classes by ability.

• Reading
• Speech and Communication

In addition to English classes, St. Croix instructors teach one content class per day including:

• Social studies
• Math
• Science

Conversational English is reinforced through interaction with American students during daily organized events and activities.

Student groups are assigned one to two English-speaking American student "buddies" to accompany them on all outings and assist with comprehension.

The St. Croix complex includes a lake, park, spacious athletic fields, a gymnasium, computer lab, 152-bed dormitory, entertainment room, dining hall, and professional cooking staff. 

Camp students stay in the St. Croix Dormitory and have study time to work on daily English lessons. Adult supervisors stay with the students in the residence and are available to assist students at all times.

Deposit

A $500 non-refundable deposit per student reserves a spot. First consideration will go to those who register by April 15. The remaining balance is due by June 15.

Medical Insurance

Students must provide proof of medical insurance by June 15. The insurance must be widely accepted in the United States.

Discounts

Group leader accommodations and fees are complimentary if bringing ten students or more.

Plan to arrive at the Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) airport on July 12 or 13. Plan to depart MSP August 2 or 3.

The English Language Experience is appropriate for groups and enrolled St. Croix students, ages 10–17, with a basic understanding of the English language. 

Students must have an excellent behavior record. Students who regularly disobey the instructors or break the rules will be sent home immediately at the family or agency's expense.

After receiving the deposit, St. Croix will provide necessary documentation when applying for a  visa to the United States.

Refund Policy

Deposits will be refunded to students who are denied a visa.

Students, families, and representative agencies are required to submit proof of health insurance covering arrival through departure, and are responsible for all health care costs required by students during the Summer English Language Experience.

Students must arrive the weekend before the camp and depart the weekend after. Free airport pick-up and drop-off will be provided for groups traveling together. On-campus accommodations are not available for early arrivals or late departures.

International flights are available regularly through the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport (MSP), only 15 minutes from St. Croix.
